BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 launched in Malaysia – 15-20 inch off-road tyres, from RM825

BFGoodrich has officially introduced the All-Terrain T/A KO3 tyre here in Malaysia, as its latest addition to its celebrated All-Terrain family. The BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 will be available in 62 sizes in total, with 39 of those available at launch, ranging from 15 to 20 inches in wheel diameter. Pricing for the all-terrain rubber ranges from RM825 to RM2,946.

The new BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 builds upon its success of the popular KO2 tyre, incorporating the brand’s latest tyre technologies to provide stronger performance in all types of terrain.

Main improvements on the new off-road tyres are focused on three aspects: treadwear, toughness, and traction. On treadwear, the KO3 is built with a new all-terrain tread compound that promises a 15% longer lifespan. The optimised footprint alongside the full depth 3D locking sipes help ensure even stress and wear across the tread for better tyre longevity – even on gravel.

The KO3 also boasts increased toughness, particularly thanks to the improved CoreGard Technology on its sidewall, inherited from its Baja T/A KR3 off-road racing tyres (hence the Baja Champion badge!), which extends the split- and bruise-resistant shoulder rubber down the sidewall to provide extra protection. BFGoodrich claims that the new All-Terrain T/A KO3 exhibits “better gravel road durability” than other three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) branded competitors.

As for traction, the new BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3’s new tread pattern – featuring serrated shoulder design, full depth 3D locking sipes, and Mud-Phobic Bars – is designed to provide a better biting edge on loose terrain, which translates to better off-road grip – especially on mud and snow. On-road, the new tread compound also offers improved wet traction, boasting a 4.2 metre shorter stopping distance than its predecessor.

The new sidewalls and full-depth tread design gives the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 a much more aggressive appearance, which is further emphasised by the raised white lettering, available on selected tyre sizes.
