BFGoodrich, a Michelin tyre subsidiary, has unveiled the g-Force Phenom T/A here in Malaysia, a new ultra-high performance (UHP) tyre that promises “unparalleled performance at a phenomenal value”. The new UHP tyre will be offered in a total of 25 sizes ranging from 16- to 20-inches in diameter, which BFGoodrich says covers the “majority of the Malaysia market”.
The new BFGoodrich g-Force Phenom T/A is based on the Performance Racing Core construction, which the company says helps maintain an optimal footprint shape during cornering, thus resulting in better handling performance, as well as better traction at off-the-line launches and hard braking situations.
The tyre’s Ulti-Grip technology, which includes the new wide circumferential rain grooves, help evacuate water quickly to increase tyre-to-road contact, resulting in better handling and braking performance during wet weather driving.
Round the sides, the larger solid shoulder blocks not only improves handling feel around the corners, but also help maintain a consistent performance level throughout the tyre’s life. The lateral groove dampers, meanwhile, help reduce the tyre noise, resulting in a more comfortable drive inside the cockpit, despite the tyre’s performance credentials.
The new BFGoodrich g-Force Phenom T/A tyres are now available at authorised dealerships across the nation, with prices ranging from RM500 to RM1,300.
