Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Zeekr has unveiled an updated version of its flagship 009 electric MPV alongside the introduction of a right-hand drive front-wheel drive (RHD) in Hong Kong. Offered in both front-wheel-drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD), the 009 comes with a price tag of 439,000 yuan (approx. RM283k) and 469,000 yuan (approx. RM302k). The Hong Kong-specific 009 starts at HKD755,000 (approx. RM453k).
The updated 009 boasts several enhancements compared to its predecessor. Notably, Zeekr introduces a new 7-seater option alongside the existing 6-seater configuration. Additionally, the refreshed 009 incorporates an FWD drivetrain option for potentially improved efficiency. This complements the existing AWD variant.

The Zeekr 009 offers two powertrain options. The single-motor variant delivers 421 hp and 440 Nm, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in 6.9 seconds and a top speed of 230 km/h. For enhanced performance, the dual-motor option matches the power output of the 009 Grand, generating 789 hp and 810 Nm, resulting in a quicker 0-100 km/h time of 3.9 seconds while maintaining the same top speed.
The new model features a standard 108 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery, capable of DC fast charging from 10-80% in approximately 11.5 minutes due to its 800 V architecture. This charging speed is equivalent to 5C charging, a metric representing the battery’s charging rate.

The Zeekr 009 offers two battery pack options. The standard battery, with a capacity of 110 kWh, provides an estimated range of up to 740 km for the FWD model and 702 km for the AWD variant (based on the CLTC standard). An optional 140 kWh battery is available for an additional cost, which increases the estimated range to up to 900 km. However, opting for the larger battery necessitates a shift from the standard 800 V electrical system to a 400 V architecture.
While specific details about the powertrain and performance remain limited, the right-hand-drive (RHD) model is confirmed to utilize a 400 V architecture paired with a 116 kWh battery pack. This setup is expected to deliver a driving range of up to 582 km (WLTP) and support fast charging capabilities.

The updated Zeekr 009 maintains a strong visual resemblance to its predecessor despite undergoing significant changes involving 1,366 components. Subtle exterior refinements include an optional illuminated front grille with chrome trim, replacing the previous solid design. Additionally, the integration of a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, previously exclusive to the four-seat Grand variant, now becomes a standard feature across the 009 lineup.
The interior of the updated Zeekr 009 maintains a clean and minimalist design aesthetic. The driver’s display remains a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, while the central infotainment system has been upgraded to a larger 15.05-inch OLED screen with enhanced resolution. Rear passengers benefit from an improved 17-inch OLED ceiling-mounted display, offering a higher 3K resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate for enhanced visual experience.

The interior of the Zeekr 009 has been refined with an emphasis on luxury. The use of high-quality materials, including Nappa leather for the seats, has been expanded. The seats themselves have been upgraded with features like headrest speakers, ventilation, massage, and heating functions. Additionally, the cabin features an Ultrasuede headliner and contrasting stitching for a premium aesthetic.
The vehicle incorporates advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) that utilize LiDAR technology in conjunction with other sensors and the Mobileye EyeQ5H chip. This combination enables features such as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot monitoring, lane change assist, cross-traffic alert, and automated parking. Additionally, optional features allow for enhanced driver assistance capabilities, approaching Level 2+ autonomy.
