You all asked for it, so here it is – the drag race you’ve all been waiting for. We’re finally putting the two most talked about electric vehicles (EV) in the market today to the test. Between the Tesla Model 3 and the BYD Seal, which is the fastest down the main straight of Petronas Sepang International Circuit?
But as you’d expect here on AutoBuzz.my, there’s always a twist. Instead of the top-of-the-range variants, we’ve instead opted for the entry-level models for both cars because… well, we thought it’d be the more interesting comparison!
Both of these cars are priced at around the RM180k mark, making them incredible value propositions especially for the kind of performance they offer. Even with only a single motor on the rear axle, both cars can still complete the century sprint in about six seconds, and their instant torque makes leaping off the start line a thrilling experience, every single time.
Both cars have a lot in common, so the real question is – which is actually faster? The car that truly popularised electrification, or the car that’s designed to beat it? Place your bets, and it’s lights out and away we go…
Special thanks to Petronas Sepang International Circuit for graciously providing us this awesome, but more importantly, safe location for this very important test!
