The 2024 BYD Seal all-electric sedan has been officially launched in Malaysia. Available in two variants, prices for the Model 3-fighter start at RM179,800

Underpinning the BYD Seal is the Chinese carmaker’s dedicated EV architecture, the e-Platform 3.0. This platform also underpins the brand’s Atto 3 EV SUV and Dolphin EV hatchback, which are both available in Malaysia.
Size-wise, the BYD Seal measures 4,800 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, and 1,460 mm in height, with a 2,920 mm long wheelbase. This makes it about the same size as the Tesla Model 3 and Ora 07.
Standard exterior equipment included with the BYD Seal Premium in Malaysia are as follows:

- Colour options: Cosmos Black, Aurora White, & Atlantis Grey

Powering the BYD Seal Premium in Malaysia is a single-motor rear-wheel drive (RWD) setup. This results in a total output of 313 hp and 360 Nm. This allows for a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 5.9 seconds.
The top-of-the-range BYD Seal Performance on the other hand gets a dual-motor all-wheel drive setup, which pushes out 530 hp and 670 Nm, allowing for a 3.8-second century sprint time. The top-spec BYD Seal Performance in Malaysia also gets the Intelligent Torque Control (iTAC), which helps to minimise or even eliminate skidding.

Included with the BYD Seal’s price tag is a 6-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty, an 8-year/160,000 km battery warranty, and an 8-year/150,000 km drive unit warranty.
The first 800 customers in Malaysia to book the BYD Seal will enjoy complimentary wall box chargers and free Gentari or ChargEV charging credits worth RM800. BYD Malaysia is also offering two service packages, namely the Standard and Plus packages, which include services such as tyre alignment, balancing, and rotation.
