Hyundai has just teased its latest all-electric model, the Hyundai Inster. But unlike its other electric vehicles (EVs), this is going to be a tiny one. The Inster is built based on the petrol-powered Hyundai Casper, which was first introduced in 2021 and is only sold in Korea.
Looking at the Hyundai Inster’s teaser images, the sub-compact EV looks rather funky, even in the shadows, and can be seen sporting stylish-looking circular daytime running lights. Like the Korean brand’s other EV models such as the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6, the Inster also sports turn signals and taillights with pixel graphics.

Contributing to the Inster’s funky looks are the body cladding and roof rails, giving it a mini-crossover kind of vibe. This adorable-looking EV can also be seen “munching” on a charging gun with its front-mounted charging port.
Hyundai has yet to share what powertrain its new mini EV will be fitted with, but it is claimed to be able to travel as far as 355 km (WLTP) on a single charge. Hyundai says the Inster will set new standards in terms of driving range, technology, and safety features, and redefine what buyers can expect from a vehicle in this class.

The Hyundai Inster will be making its official debut at Busan International Mobility Show later this month (June 2024). What do you think of this Korean mini EV? Would you pick one up if it’s available in Malaysia?
