Jetour, a subsidiary of Chery, one of the largest carmakers in China, has previewed the Jetour Dashing in Malaysia. Launched in 2 variants, the Prime and the Signature, it contends in Malaysia’s hotly contested mid-sized SUV segment.
Dashing, in its Chinese version 大圣, is actually the Monkey King in the classic Chinese novel, Journey to the Kingdom of the West. This quirkily named SUV measures at 4,590mm long, 1,900mm wide, and 1,685mm tall. It goes up against the formidable Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5, and Proton X70. You can view the car at Malaysia Autoshow 2024 from May 22nd to 26th at MAEPS Serdang.
Like its larger sibling, the Jetour X70 Plus, the Dashing features an oversized grille flanked by a pair of slim headlights. The following exterior equipment is standard across the range:
