Smart plans East Malaysia expansion, to reach 13 dealerships nationwide soon

Smart Malaysia is planning to set up its first dealership in East Malaysia soon, and this is part of the company’s target to bring its total number of dealerships to 13 from the current total of 10 nationwide. The company has yet to detail the exact location of its first dealership in East Malaysia.

This was announced together with Smart Malaysia’s celebration of its first 100 days in the Malaysian market. Smart entered the market late last year with the launch of the Smart #1 electric SUV that is offered in three variants.

To date, the most popular choice for the Smart #1 customers would be the range-topping Brabus variant. Retailing at RM249,000, the Smart #1 Brabus is the most powerful variant with a maximum output of 428 hp and 523 Nm. The two other variants of the Smart #1 are the base Pro variant and the mid-level Premium variant. Each retail at RM189,000 and RM219,000 respectively.

Smart Malaysia has also conducted the Smart Tech Insight Day which is an event tailored to existing customers to deepen their understanding of their smart #1 and ownership experience. The event covers matters such as warranty details, product features, convenient charging ecosystem, and real-life owner stories.
