2024 Peugeot E-2008 facelift caught undisguised in Malaysia – official launch imminent?

At long last, after first teasing it nearly a year ago, it appears we’ll finally be getting the Peugeot E-2008 soon. A unit of the compact electric crossover has been spotted basically undisguised by Azlan Mahmud in the Malaysian Electric Vehicle Owners Club (MyEVOC) Facebook group at the Gentari XPark Sunway Serene charging station, hinting at an imminent launch – and it appears we’ll also be getting it in facelift form too.

As seen in the photos, the facelifted 2024 Peugeot E-2008 sports a redesigned exterior, headlined by the revised headlights and “triple-claw” LED light signature, wider grille, as well as the new tail lights at the back. The unit seen here should be the range-topping, sportier GT variant, judging by the two-tone blacked out roof, 18-inch alloy wheels, as well as the top-of-the-line triple projector LED front beams.

More importantly, the facelift variant also brings about improved performance, with the front motor now making 156 hp (115 kW) and 260 Nm, a 15% increase in horsepower over its predecessor. Its battery has also been enlarged slightly from 50 kWh previously to now 54 kWh, which means its driving range has now been increased to 406 km (WLTP).

For charging, the new 2024 Peugeot E-2008 supports DC fast charging of up to 100 kW, taking roughly 30 minutes to charge the battery from 20-80%. For AC charging, though, it depends if Stellantis specs the car with a 7.4 kW (single-phase) or 11 kW (three-phase) on-board AC charger.

Similarly, we also still don’t know what kind of equipment the upcoming 2024 Peugeot E-2008 will come with here in Malaysia. Standard items however should include a larger 10-inch infotainment touchscreen display, a 3D digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, as well as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

With the car now roaming our streets basically undisguised, we’re guessing it won’t be too much longer to wait until the Peugeot E-2008 is officially unveiled here in Malaysia. The company also previously hinted that the E-2008 could be locally assembled (CKD) at their Gurun assembly plant, so pricing should be pretty competitive, too!
