Peugeot e-2008 previewed at Malaysia Auto Show 2023 – up to 320km range, 100kW DC charging

The all-electric variant of the Peugeot 2008, the Peugeot e-2008 has just been previewed at the Malaysia Auto Show 2023. Underpinning the e-2008 is the same Common Modular Platform (CMP) as the petrol 2008. Only previewed for now, no details regarding the price of the e-2008 have been confirmed as of now.

Dimensions-wise, the e-2008 is identical to the regular 2008, which is on sale in Malaysia. It measures 4,300 mm long, 1,770 mm wide and 1,550 mm tall. On the outside, the Peugeot e-2008 pretty much looks identical to the regular 2008. Looking funky just like the 2008, the e-2008 includes features such as full LED lighting, LED daytime running lights and 18-inch Black Onyx Diamond-cut wheels. However, the fog lights are most probably not going to make the cut in Malaysia.

However, Bermaz Auto has mentioned that the fog lights will most probably not be available with the e-2008 when it reaches Malaysian shores. The e-2008 can be distinguished from the petrol-powered model through the ‘e’ badge, located on the front side panel and tailgate.

Powering the e-2008 is a single motor system that pushes out 136 hp and 260 Nm of torque. With a 50 kWh battery, the French BEV SUV is able to carry you as far as 320 km (WLTP range). When the e-2008 runs out of juice, you can also charge it from 0 to 80% in just 30 minutes, via 100 kW DC charging.

Features such as Alcantara and leatherette seats, Peugeot’s 3D i-cockpit hologram display, a head-up display (HUD), a 10-inch infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, electronic parking brake and ambient lighting are present as well.

Safety-wise, the Peugeot e-2008 comes with High Beam Assist (HBA), Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Active Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), Active Safety Brake, as well as Adaptive Crusie Control (ACC) with stop and go function. As for when the car will be launched, Bemaz Auto said we can expect the Peugeot e-2008 to be officially launched in Malaysia in Q3 2023. Those interested can check out the car itself by giving Malaysia Auto Show 2023 a visit. The show will be held from May 4 to 7, 2023.
