The Mazda CX-5 facelift made its launch in Malaysia less than a month ago. Like before, the CX-5 facelift is locally assembled at the Inokom Assembly plant in Kulim, Kedah, and is offered in five variants, with prices starting from RM146,879. What you see here is the Mazda CX-5 2.5G High 2WD variant, which can be yours at RM177,370.
On the outside, the 2024 Mazda CX-5 facelift in Malaysia now wears a new grille, along with oblong-shaped LED headlights and rear lights, giving it a sleeker look than before. The CX-5 2.5G High 2WD also gets a set of 19-inch dual-tone alloys, and is packed with features such as a power tailgate and a 360-degree camera system.
Powering the Malaysian-spec Mazda CX-5 2.5G High 2WD is the brand’s 2.5-litre naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder SkyActiv engine which makes 192 hp and 258 Nm. Power is sent to the front wheels via a 6-speed SkyActiv automatic transmission.
Moving inside, the facelifted Mazda CX-5 now comes as standard with wireless Apple CarPlay support for its 8-inch infotainment head unit, a Qi wireless charger, and an LED ambient lighting system. Also included as standard is Mazda’s Advanced Keyless Entry system.

Other equipment present in the Mazda CX-5 2.5G High 2WD consist of a semi-digital instrument cluster with a 4.6-inch colour TFT multi-info display, and leather seats with 10-way powered front seats that come with memory function. Dual-zone climate control, rear aircon, an electronic Parking Brake (EPB), paddle shifters, and 4 USB ports are also included.
Safety-wise, CX-5 2.5G High in Malaysia comes with the brand’s i-Activesense Advanced Driver Assist Safety features. This includes features such as Smart Brake Support (SBS), Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) with Stop & Go, Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), and Lane-Keep Assist System (LAS).
Included with the facelifted Mazda CX-5’s price tag is a 5-year/100,000km manufacturer warranty, together with a 5-year/100,000km free maintenance package according to the manufacturer’s standards, including labour, parts, and lubricants.
