The 2024 Mazda CX-5 facelift has finally been launched in Malaysia, a few years late after its global debut. The facelift is subtle, and you might not even notice the changes at first glance. There’s a slight price hike too, with the CX-5’s price now starting at RM146,879.20.

With the facelift, the 5 variants of the CX-5 are still in the lineup, and this includes the 2.0G Mid 2WD, 2.0G High 2WD, 2.5G High 2WD, 2.2D High 2WD, and 2.5G High AWD. The range-topping variant costs RM191,170.40.

The exterior of the CX-5 gets a new set of headlights along with a new front bumper. The facelift also introduces two new colours – Polymetal Gray and Platinum Quartz. Existing colours remain and the additional cost for the premium colours still applies. Depending on the variant, the CX-5 facelift sits on either 17-inch or 19-inch wheels.

There are 4 powertrains for the CX-5, and this includes both diesel and petrol options. There is the 2.0-litre NA 4-cylinder petrol engine, 2.5-litre NA 4-cylinder petrol engine, a 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine, and a 2.5-litre turbo petrol engine.

Inside, the facelifted Mazda CX-5 in Malaysia now comes standard with features such as wireless Apple CarPlay support for its 8-inch infotainment head unit, a Qi wireless charger, and an LED ambient lighting system. Also included as standard is the Mazda’s Advanced Keyless Entry system.

The High variants of the CX-5 facelift are equipped with the full suite of i-Activesense Advanced Driver Assistance. This includes features like Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) with Stop & Go, Cruising & Traffic Support (CTS), Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), and Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS).

Included in the prices of the 2024 Mazda CX-5 is a 5-year/100,000km manufacturer warranty, together with a 5-year/100,000km free maintenance package according to the manufacturer’s standards, including labour, parts, and lubricants.
