Proton’s first brand-new sedan in a long time – the 2023 Proton S70 made its launch at the Axiata Arena stadium in Bukit Jalil earlier this Tuesday. Priced from RM73,800, the national carmaker’s new C-segment sedan is available in four variants – Executive, Premium, Flagship, and Flagship X.

On the outside, All variants except for the entry-level Executive model get LED headlights along with a rear taillight bar. Wheel-wise, both the Executive and Premium variants are fitted with 16-inch alloys, while the Flagship and Flagship X variants get larger 17-inch alloys.

Inside, all variants of the S70 get standard features such as an electric parking brake (EPB), rear air vents, and remote engine start. Leatherette seats are reserved for the top three variants, while the large 12.3-inch infotainment head unit along with the 10.3-inch LCD meter combination is only available with the top two variants. Additionally, the Flagship variant gets a sunroof too.

Powering the Proton S70 is the same 1.5-litre inline-3 turbo MPI engine and 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) combo found in the lower variants of the Proton X50. This setup puts out 150 hp (metric) and 226 Nm to the front wheels.
