Tesla Malaysia HQ and first Experience Centre launched – 8X 250kW chargers, service centre

Tesla Malaysia has officially launched its Cyberjaya headquarters (HQ) today, which acts as the carmaker’s head office, Experience Centre, and service centre. Completed in just two months, the headquarters also features a showroom and a dedicated parts warehouse.

Spanning 55,000 sq ft, Tesla Malaysia’s new HQ is capable of displaying up to four cars in its showroom. As one would expect from a Tesla facility, the HQ is also equipped with 8 DC Tesla Superchargers, as well as 12 Tesla Destination AC chargers.

Like the ones at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, the DC Tesla Superchargers are capable of charging at a rate of up to 250 kW. With just 5 minutes of charge using the Supercharger, you will be able to get up to 120 km of range with your Tesla.

The AC Tesla Destination chargers on the other hand are capable of charging at a rate of up to 22 kW. This translates into providing your Tesla with 70 km of range with every hour of charge.

However, it is to be noted that the chargers are currently for internal use only. Even though not entirely impossible, the company has yet to announce when it will be open for public use.

For those who have dropped bookings for the Tesla Model Y and Model 3, you will also be picking up your cars at Tesla’s Cyberjaya HQ as customer deliveries will be taking place there. As a refresher, order books for the Tesla Model Y and Model 3 are both open in Malaysia, with prices starting from RM199,000 for the former, and RM189,000 for the latter.

Initial deliveries for Model 3 are expected to take place early next year. The Model 3 on the other hand is expected to be delivered starting at the end of this year.

Aside from its Supercharger Network and Cyberjaya headquarters, Tesla’s investment plan for Malaysia also includes setting up more Experience Centres. One of the centres that has been spotted recently is located in Pavillion Damansara Heights and is expected to open by the end of this month (October).
