Mercedes-Benz Malaysia celebrates graduation of Advanced Modern Apprenticeship program students

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) has celebrated the graduation of 38 apprentices from its three-year Advanced Modern Apprenticeship (AMA) Program. Over the past three years, the graduating batch of 38 apprentices underwent stringent training and has succeeded in being certified as globally recognised Mercedes-Benz technicians.

These professionals will then be joining MBM’s Retail Network, which has a base of over 1,000 service personnel. In addition, the apprentices will also be offered job opportunities within the carmaker’s service network for four subsequent years. Over the three-year program, MBM has invested a total of RM100,000 in each student.

Graduating class of 2023 Best Student Award recipient, Fakharuddin bin Abu Hanipah said, “I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Mercedes-Benz Malaysia for the incredible opportunity I have had over the past three years. This program has provided me with the skills and knowledge essential for navigating the dynamic automotive industry. I am appreciative of the guidance offered by our knowledgeable trainers and excited for the next phase of my journey.”

MBM has also welcomed a new batch of 42 apprentices, who are joining the AMA program this year. This includes five students from Monfort Boys Town, a result of an MoU signed between the institution and MBM last year. Over the past four decades, MBM has contributed to the skilled automotive workforce by training over 900 apprentices since 1984.

Mercedes-Benz Cars Malaysia President & CEO and Mercedes-Benz Cars SEA II Head of Region, Amanda Zhang said, “At Mercedes-Benz, we believe in the continuous development of an individual, training them to be self-reliant and driven for perfection. Our goal is to nurture young Malaysians, equipping them with the skills they need to excel in the automotive industry while ensuring their careers remain future-proof. Through this program, we build a skilled workforce dedicated to delivering the best customer experience and vehicle quality. Education is central to our commitment to excellence.”
