Gallery: 2023 Peugeot Landtrek Allure 1.9D – The French pickup alternative

Peugeot’s new pick-up truck – the 2023 Peugeot Landtrek was launched by the brand’s official distributor in Malaysia – Bermaz Auto Alliance earlier this year. Offered in a single variant only, the ‘Allure’, the Peugeot Landtrek is priced at RM120,072 (OTR, without insurance).

For many Malaysians, this could be the first time they have ever seen a Peugeot-branded pick-up truck. In reality, however, the Peugeot Landtrek is actually far from the brand’s first pick-up truck, as the French carmaker has been making them as early as 1938.

Based on Changan Automobile’s Kaicene F70 pick-up truck, the Peugeot Landtrek measures 5,331 mm long, 1,925 mm wide, and 1,877 mm tall. It is underpinned by a 3,180 mm long wheelbase and has a ground clearance of 235 mm.

On the outside, the 2023 Peugeot Landtrek comes with automatic LED headlamps, and daytime running lights (DRLs), along with front and rear fog lamps. The French pick-up truck is also fitted with roof rails and side steps.

Providing stopping power are disc brakes up front and drum brakes at the back. Suspension-wise, the Peugeot Landtrek is equipped with double wishbones at the front and leaf springs at the rear.

The Peugeot Landtrek in Malaysia is offered in a total of six colour choices. This includes Ceramic White, Silver Grey, Magnetic Blue, Red Rubi, Rockstone Grey, and a model-exclusive colour Olea green, which is the one we have here.

Powering the 2023 Peugeot Landtrek is a Changan-sourced 1.9-litre 4-cylinder common rail turbodiesel engine paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission. With power sent to all four wheels via the part-time 4WD system, total output is rated at 150 hp and 350 Nm. The Landtrek is also equipped with a mechanical rear differential lock, and the recommended fuel for its turbo diesel engine is Euro 4 and above.

Moving inside, the 2023 Peugeot Landtrek is fitted with a 4.2-inch digital instrument cluster, along with a 10-inch touchscreen head unit that supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Landtrek’s front seats are electrically powered, while its rear seats feature a 60:40 split function.

The French truck is also equipped with an armrest at the rear, along with rear air cond vents. Its steering wheel sports telescopic adjustment too.

In the safety department, Peugeot has equipped the Landtrek with six airbags, electronic stability program (ESP), lane departure warning (LDW), hill descent control (HDC), and hill start assist (HSA). Included with the 2023 Peugeot Landtrek’s price tag is a 5-year/100,000 km manufacturer warranty.
