Nissan Almera facelift debuts in Thailand – Approx. RM5k price hike, new ADAS features

Over in Thailand, the Nissan Almera has been given a facelift, finally catching up to the look of the current Nissan Versa, its US counterpart. Mainly exhibiting a different design on the front end, the facelifted Almera in Thailand also adds new ADAS features. The facelift also introduces a 24,000 THB to 44,000 THB (approx. RM3,174 to RM5,819) price hike across the range.

Up front, the Nissan Almera facelift receives a new front grille design with the latest “V-motion” look. Another update at the front end are the headlights which now get a High Beam Assist (HBA) system. With the rest of the exterior remaining largely the same, the Almera facelift in Thailand introduces two new body colours – Milk Gray and Gray Sky Pearl. The Monarch Orange body colour has been dropped.

Powering the Nissan Almera facelift is still the same 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged engine. Like the Almera that we get in Malaysia, the Thai-spec Nissan Almera’s 3-cylinder engine outputs 100 hp (metric) and 152 Nm. Paired with the engine is Nissan’s Xtronic CVT, sending power to the front wheels only. The wheels and tyres have been carried over from the pre-facelift version.

Inside, changes to the Nissan Almera facelift include a new interior colour, mainly on the dashboard and door trims. Previously a cream colour, the trims are now in Dark Blue (for the V and VL variants only). Nissan has also changed the steering wheel leather to a softer version and changed the rearview mirror to a frameless type. As for convenience, the Nissan Almera facelift introduces a wireless phone charger located at the front section of the centre console.

In the safety department, the Nissan Almera facelift now comes with High Beam Assist (HBA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). However, these new safety features are only available in the range-topping VL variant.

In Malaysia, the Nissan Almera has yet to receive a significant update since its launch in 2020. With the car updated in Thailand, a necessary update (and a price hike) may be coming soon to the Nissan Almera in Malaysia.
