BMW Malaysia has just updated its model line-up, with many of its models now being offered with “comfort-oriented suspensions” starting March 2023. More specifically, the BMW 218i Gran Coupe, as well as the X3 sDrive20i M Sport, will now be offered with the marque’s Standard Suspension system with a softer spring and damper set-up, which the company says will enable a more comfortable ride in these models.
The change will be much welcomed on the former, as it was widely criticised for being too harshly sprung for such a compact model.
The X3 xDrive30i M Sport, and X3 xDrive30e M Sport, meanwhile, will now be offered with an Adaptive Suspension set-up, replacing the previously fitted M Sport Suspension and Standard Suspension respectively. BMW says the new set-up is designed to reduce disruptive vehicle movements to a minimum, with shock absorbers that automatically adapt to road conditions.
Additionally, the recently-updated BMW 330i M Sport will also now be offered with a set of Adaptive M Suspension, replacing the previous M Sport Suspension. The new Adaptive M Suspension offers “increased sportiness” compared to the previous set-up thanks to the electronically controlled dampers with individual control for each wheel, and can also adapt to the different driving conditions based on the drive mode selected via the Driving Dynamics control switch on the car’s central console.
BMW Malaysia has yet to confirm if the updated specifications have resulted in a price change, but we have reached out to the company for clarification – the price list below will be updated as soon as we received confirmation. As of now, the models are priced as follows, inclusive of the extended five-year unlimited-mileage warranty and service package.
