Honda CR-V gets updated colour palette in Malaysia – Ignite Red and Meteoroid Grey

Following in the footsteps of the other Honda models here in Malaysia, the CR-V‘s exterior colour offerings have now also been updated for our markets, with the introduction of the Ignite Red Metallic and Meteoroid Grey Metallic colours. The two new hues will replace the existing Passion Red Pearl and Modern Steel Metallic colours respectively.

Honda Malaysia says the decision to introduce the two new colours on the CR-V was due to their popularity on its other models including the City, City Hatchback, Civic, BR-V, Accord (only Meteoroid Grey), and the all-new HR-V.

In a statement published today, Honda Malaysia Managing Director and CEO, Hironobu Yoshimura said, “Both colours were the popular options in these models; the Ignite Red Metallic colour contributed an average of 18% to the sales of each of the five models, while the Meteoroid Grey Metallic colour contributed an average of 24% to the sales of each of the six models.”

With the CR-V included, Honda Malaysia has now completed the expansion of the two new colours into the line-up, which means the Passion Red Pearl and Modern Steel Metallic colours are no longer offered on any Honda models here on our shores.

Launched in November 2020, the facelifted Honda CR-V has already contributed more than 27,000 units to the total sales to-date (63,000 units) for the fifth-generation model. The popularity of the CR-V is also still going strong, with the C-segment SUV contributing 12% to the company’s sales from January to July 2022.

There’s also a unique Black Edition model, which bases itself off the 1.5L TC-P 2WD variant, but gets blacked-out trims on the front grille, front bumper garnish, rear bumper garnish, and 18-inch alloy wheels, paired to a Crystal Black Pearl exterior paint job.

All-new sixth-generation Honda CR-V

Honda has already unveiled the sixth-generation Honda CR-V globally, which will be available with an e:HEV powertrain in addition to the regular petrol variant, making a combined 207 hp and 335 Nm. The all-new Honda CR-V boasts a much more modern design on the outside, alongside a completely reworked interior based on the 11th-generation Civic.
