Facts & Features: 2020 Honda CR-V facelift launched in Malaysia – now cheaper across the board!

Honda Malaysia has officially unveiled the 2020 Honda CR-V facelift here on our shores. Aside from a couple of minor styling updates and new features, the CR-V model line-up has dropped from four variants down to just three now – a 2.0-litre 2WD base variant, and two TC-P variants – 2WD and 4WD – powered by the 1.5-litre turbocharged mill.

Prices for the 2020 Honda CR-V starts at RM139,913 for the base variant, up to RM162,910 for the range-topping TC-P 4WD variant. All prices are on the road, without insurance, and inclusive of sales tax exemptions.

EXTERIOR

Updates to the exterior styling on the 2020 Honda CR-V is fairly reserved, with the main difference being the bumpers on both end of the mid-size SUV.

In front, the new lower fascia significantly cleans up the busy look of the outgoing model for a more modern and sophisticated appearance thanks to generous use of matte black plastics, highlighted by a chrome strip that forms the slats surrounding the lower air intake grille. Meanwhile, the large chrome trim on the upper grille has been replaced by an gloss black item, in line with the newer Honda models.

The cleaner, classier look is also mirrored on the rear bumpers, underscored by a matte chrome strip. The bumper also no long moulds around the dual exhaust exits, which are now trapezoidal items in chrome (on the turbocharged variants).

Other exterior highlights include the smoked rear taillights assembly, slightly tweaked automatic LED headlights with darker surrounds (standard across the range), and a new design for the 18-inch alloy wheels on the turbocharged variants. The two upper variants also get a powered tailgate with foot detection.

The 2020 Honda CR-V facelift in Malaysia is available in five exterior colours: Lunar Silver Metallic, Passion Red Pearl, Modern Steel Metallic, Dark Olive Metallic, and Platinum White Pearl – the last option being a new addition to the model, but carries a RM357 price premium.
