Honda BR-V gets new Ignite Red Metallic, Meteoroid Gray Metallic colours in Malaysia

Honda Malaysia has just announced an update to the BR-V‘s colour palette, with the introduction of Ignite Red Metallic and Meteoroid Gray Metallic.

The new hues for the Honda BR-V are part of the company’s recent streak of exterior colour palette updates, and will replace the existing Passion Red Pearl and Modern Steel Metallic colours respectively. Other colour options for the seven-seater model include Platinum White Pearl (extra-cost option), Marine Purple Pearl, and Lunar Silver Metallic.

The two new colours were first introduced on the all-new Honda City Hatchback, and have since been expanded to the all-new Civic and City sedan. The Honda Accord meanwhile is offered with the Meteoroid Gray Metallic colour.

“These colours have been receiving good response from the market. In view of the good acceptance, we now continue to expand the new colours to the BR-V,” said Honda Malaysia Managing Director and CEO, Hironobu Yoshimura. “The Ignite Red Metallic further elevates the attractiveness and bold appearance of the BR-V, while the Meteoroid Gray Metallic enhances its rugged look.”

Since its launch back in June 2020, the facelifted seven-seater crossover has already sold more than 5,700 units as of last month. Honda Malaysia attributes the positive demand to the BR-V’s overall design that “meets customers’ needs for a 7-seater with stylish SUV design, exciting driving performance and incredible versatility”.

As a quick recap, the Honda BR-V is powered by a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated i-VTEC inline-four engine that sends 120 hp and 145 Nm of torque to the front wheels via a CVT gearbox.

However, it’s the BR-V’s unique features that make it a versatile family vehicle, including the 60:40 one-touch tilt and tumble seats in the second row, and 50:50 tilt and full tumble seats in the third row. The boot space expands from 223 to 539 litres with the third-row seats folded down.

Other creature comforts include tweeter speakers, cabin air filter, automatic air conditioning, Smart Entry, as well as a seven-inch Display Audio infotainment system on the range-topping V variant.

The 2020 Honda BR-V is priced from RM86,726 for the base E variant, and RM93,420 for the range-topping V variant. The pricing is inclusive of the ongoing SST exemptions, although if you’re not looking for one immediately, you might want to hold off for the next-generation model that’s due to be launched here in Malaysia very soon.
