Before we get into the details, let’s talk pricing. The new limited-edition BMW 3 Series models comes in at:

  • BMW 320i M Sport – RM262,800
  • BMW 330i M Sport – RM304,800

Both variants are locally-assembled here in Malaysia, and the quoted prices above are on-the-road, without insurance, and inclusive of the five-year unlimited-mileage warranty programme with free scheduled services. The pricing represents a hike of roughly RM5k for both variants.

But if you want the cars at the lowest possible price available, they can be yours at RM246,680 and RM288,680 respectively with the standard two-year warranty.

Starting with the BMW 320i, the new limited-edition entry-level model now gets the M Sport package on the exterior, previously only available on the higher-end variants. The M Sport package for the 320i consists of sportier bumper designs, alongside a new 18-inch Style 790 M double-spoke M light alloy wheels taken from the existing BMW 330i M Sport.

Inside, the limited-edition BMW M320i M Sport also gains a variable sport steering system, alongside a M leather steering wheel and Individual Anthracite roof lining to “enhance the sporting appeal of the new variant”.

As for the 330i M Sport, the main additions on the new limited-edition model consists of an electrical glass roof, alongside a new Harman Kardon Surround Sound System. On the outside, the BMW 330i M Sport also gains a new larger set of Style 791 M 19-inch double-spoke M light alloy wheels.

Aside from these additions, the rest of the two cars remain unchanged from before. Both models are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four paired to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, making 184 hp and 300 Nm on the 320i, and 258 hp and 400 Nm on the 330i.

Both variants have also been updated previously with the addition of the Driving Assistance Package advanced driver assistance features, plus the BMW Live Cockpit Professional screens on the 320i, and they’re all still present here, too.

Both variants are offered in four exterior colour options (Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Mineral Grey, M Portimao Blue), although they’re all paired exclusively to Black Vernasca leather on the inside.

So then, why the sudden addition of the two new limited edition models? If we had to guess, the two new variants could well be the “run-out” model for the current 3 Series model, ahead of the introduction of the new facelift 3 Series here in Malaysia.

The 2022 BMW 3 Series facelift, which was introduced globally back in May this year, could be introduced here in Malaysia very soon, so keep your eyes peeled for the latest developments.
