Facts & Figures: CBU Fully-electric Mazda MX-30 crossover now in Malaysia from RM198k



Bermaz Motor, the sole distributor of Mazda vehicles in Malaysia has opened for booking the fully imported (CBU), fully-electric MX-30 crossover in two variants – Mid and High – with prices starting from RM198,780. The MX-30 was first revealed at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. Deliveries are expected to take place in Q4 of 2022.

The Mazda MX-30 comes with a 5-year/100,000km manufacturer warranty, whichever comes first along with an 8-year/160,000 km EV battery warranty, whichever comes first.

Built on the CX-30 platform, the fully electric MX-30 is fitted with a 35.5 kWh battery, to power an electric motor that drives the front wheels. The combination produces 143 hp and 271 Nm and is expected to return up to 199 km of electric driving range.

Using a 6.6 kW Type 2 AC charger, the MX-30 can be fully charged in just 5 hours while the quicker 40 kW DC charger can charge the MX-30 up to 80% in 36 minutes.

On the outside, both variants – the Mid and High – offer similar specifications including items like 18-inch alloy wheels, heated side mirrors, LED headlights, taillights, and rear along with keyless entry and 10 parking sensors – four in the front and six at the rear. Exclusive to the High variant are items like a powered sunroof and LED Signature headlights.

Moving inside, both variants share nearly the same specifications as well. Standard features include a head-up display, 7-inch colour TFT LCD multi-info display, dual-zone air conditioning, electronic parking brake, gear shift paddles, 8.8-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, two USB ports and reverse camera display.

Exclusive to the High variant are features such as the Bose sound system with 12 speakers, frameless rear-view mirror, 360-degree view display, seats wrapped with a mix of leatherette and fabric material, and 8-way powered seats with memory, lumbar and heated functions. The Mid variant only gets 6-way manually adjusted seats for the driver and passenger.

In terms of safety and driver aids, the MX-30 comes with seven airbags, along with Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop-Go function, autonomous emergency braking (front and rear in the High variant), lane keep assist and lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert and blindspot monitor. The high variant even comes with front cross-traffic alert.
