Volkswagen resumes operations of showrooms and service centres

Following the government’s latest directives for the reopening of the automotive sector during the National Recovery Plan (NRP), Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has announced that its showrooms and service centres have now resumed operations, except for those located in Melaka, Johor, Kedah, Pahang, and Kelantan, that are still awaiting approval to operate.

During this period, Visitors are encouraged to make an appointment prior to their visits by contacting their preferred Volkswagen dealer. The full list of Volkswagen dealerships and their operational status can be found on VPCM’s website, linked here.

To safeguard the health and safety of both its customers and employees, all Volkswagen showrooms will adhere to the strict SOP guidelines set by the government, alongside the Volkswagen SafeHands measures, which includes regular temperature scans, mandatory mask usage, mandatory check-in with the MySejahtera app, and regular sanitisation of all touchpoints in the showroom.

Additionally, only fully vaccinated (14 or 28 days after completing their vaccinations, depending on the vaccine taken) visitors will be allowed into the showroom.

The 10-km travel limit has been removed for the fully vaccinated in Phase 1 NRP states. More info here.

VPCM Managing Director, Erik Winter welcomes the Government’s decision to reopen sales and manufacturing operations. “The closure of showrooms in the past months have affected our business performance, but we look forward to seeing the industry reopen and move forward, together with the support of our dealers.”
