Some people buy cars to stand out from the crowd, but others just want to be as incognito as possible. For those in the latter camp, BMW Malaysia has just unveiled a 36-units-only limited-edition BMW 530i M Sport Dark Shadow Edition that might suit your fancy.

As the name suggests, everything on the Dark Shadow Edition is deliberately made as dark and black as possible. On the outside, all chrome accents have essentially been deleted with the Shadow Line black window finishers, high gloss black kidney grille, blacked-out fender vent trims, as well as blacked-out exhaust tips.

The BMW 530i M Sport Dark Shadow Edition also only comes in one colour – Carbon Black. To cap off the exterior looks, the special edition 530i also gets 20-inch Style 669 M double-spoke alloy wheels, finished in Orbitgrey.

Inside, buyers will get to choose between Black Dakota leather with blue stitching (pictured here), or Cognac Dakota leather with contrast stitching on the upholstery. We figure the swath of blackness would probably fit the overall image of the Dark Shadow Edition better.

The BMW 530i M Sport Dark Shadow Edition is priced at RM392,800 on the road, without insurance, which makes it a RM10,000 premium over the standard BMW 530i M Sport. If you’re a fan of the all-black look, you’d be glad to know that all these personalisation options cost more than RM37,000 when purchased individually.

Aside from these aesthetic changes, the rest of the car is of course, completely identical to the regular BMW 530i M Sport. Under the hood, you’ll still find the same 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-4 engine paired to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, which sends 252 hp and 350 Nm to the rear wheels. 0-100 km/h is done in 6.2 seconds, onward to a top speed of 250 km/h.

The special-edition BMW 530i variant will be available for booking with a booking fee of RM1,000 starting 4th January 2021, exclusively through BMW Malaysia’s own online shopping platform, BMW Shop Online (available here).

With the BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia’s Balloon Financing Plan, the Dark Shadow Edition can be yours with a monthly instalment plan starting from RM4,488 (based on an 80% loan estimate on a five-year tenure). You can check out the financing options through the BMW Engage platform.

The BMW 530i M Sport Dark Shadow Edition will also be available for viewing at the following dealerships, if you’re so inclined:
