Last weekend, the local auto news scene was set alight by the launch of the Perodua Myvi in Brunei. Aside from the Standard 1.3 variant, the Myvi was also sold as the S-Edition; with a body kit resembling the Myvi GT Concept previewed at the 2018 Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show.

The launched caused quite a buzz, to a point that netizens were questioning if Perodua would launch the same, following speculation by the local automotive media. Well, Perodua has spoken.

According to the company, the sporty body kit was sourced independently by GHK Motors, distributors of Perodua vehicles in Brunei. Perodua also added that they’re in talks with the distributor to ensure that the body kit complies with the company’s standards.

As for GHK Motors, the company said the introduction of the Myvi S-Edition was an attempt to introduce a variant that is better suited for their market. So I guess we have the answer guys – a Myvi with a sporty body kit may be some time away, if ever.
