Gather around, friends, as you are about to witness one of – if not the most – important drag race of all time.

On one side of the ring is the nation’s favourite super car, the Perodua Myvi 1.5 H. Challenging the highway champ on the other side of the ring is the updated Proton Iriz 1.6 Premium CVT.

Can the black horse put on a fight to the undisputed king of the road? We present to you, the Juara Kampung Showdown.

On paper, the scale can tip either way. Sure, the Proton Iriz does have the horsepower advantage here, measuring up at 107 hp and 150 Nm of torque, a 5 hp and 14 Nm advantage over the Myvi (102 hp, 136 Nm).

However, the Perodua Myvi is also the lighter fighter here, weighing just 1010 kg, which is exactly 168 kg and one GC Mah lighter than the Proton Iriz. And of course, there’s the reputation factor at play here…

Can the “new kid on the block” take down the Malaysian all-time favourite, or will the Perodua Myvi retain its reign as the highway king? Is it CVT or four-speed auto? Find out here, once and for all.
