Sales Tax Exemption: Volkswagen announces revised price list

Following the government’s announcement of the sales tax exemptions for both locally-assembled and fully-imported vehicles, Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has now released a revised price list which will go into effect from 15th June to 31st December 2020.

The revised price list features price reductions ranging between 1.1% to 3.3%, with the highest reduction being RM9,485 (3.1%) on the fully-imported Volkswagen Golf R. For the full breakdown on the revised retail price on all Volkswagen models available, do refer to the table below.

In terms of percentage changes, the locally-assembled Passat Elegance comes in highest at 3.3% – a RM6,134 reduction. Meanwhile, the Beetle Sport does not see a reduction in price.

VPCM Managing Director, Erik Winter said, “We are always working towards making German engineering affordable to Malaysians. This good news translates to more savings for car buyers and offers a much-needed boost to the automotive sector made that has been dormant during the Movement Control Order.”

Aside from the price reductions, customers can also enjoy other ongoing Volkswagen promotions, such as six-months free instalment for the Tiguan registered by the 30th June, as well as other exclusive online rebates on the Volkswagen eShowroom. Customers located within 20km of their preferred dealerships can also have their new car delivered right to their door step for free.

As before, all Volkswagen models come with a three-year free maintenance package, along with a five-year manufacturer’s warranty, and five-year complimentary roadside assistance.
