Toyota and Lexus halt operations till end of March, Vios Challenge cancelled

Toyota and Lexus dealerships have stopped day-to-day operations temporarily in compliance with the Movement Control Order issued by the government of Malaysia, however both entities remain contactable by customers over the restricted movement period.

All Toyota and Lexus showrooms will remain closed till 31st March.

Ravindran K, President of UMW Toyota Motor said, “The safety of our employees, our stakeholders and all of our customers is paramount to us. Based on direction from the government, despite the shutdown of our operations, we will continue to be available to our customers for any assistance they may require with regard to their Toyota and Lexus vehicles.”

Hence, you may call Toyota Freephone at 1800-8-TOYOTA (869682) or Lexus Freephone at 1800-88-LEXUS (53987) for information or assistance.

Racing will have to take a backseat to health and safety.

The imposition of the Movement Control Order and heightened state of alert over the Covid-19 pandemic means that the fourth and final round of season 3’s Toyota Vios Challenge Championship scheduled to take place on the 18th to 19th April 2020 at the Sepang International Circuit has now been cancelled. It was previously re-designated to run as a closed event with the racing to go on without spectators.

Additionally, vehicle manufacturing operations under Assembly Services Sdn Bhd (a subsidiary of UMW Toyota Motor) has also been suspended.
