It must have been a bustling Chinese New Year for Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), as their ongoing Chinese New Year promotions helped the Triton pick-up truck achieve its highest market share in the past 10 years, with 22.8% for the month of January.

The achievement is in spite of the downturn in the pick-up truck market. In fact, the Mitsubishi Triton was the only pick-up in the segment to achieve a positive sales growth, with 1.6% increase from April 2019 to January 2020, compared to the same period last year.

The Mitsubishi Triton double cab also took home number one position in the pick-up truck segment in four states for the month of January – Klang Valley, Melaka, Penang and Kedah.

MMM Chief Executive Officer, Tomoyuki Shinnishi said, “We are happy that we closed 2019 and begun 2020 strong with the Mitsubishi Triton that has managed to capture the hearts of Malaysians with the DNA of the best handling pick-up truck.

“With the achievement of ranking number one in J.D. Power 2019 Malaysia Customer Service Index (CSI), we are committed to deliver top-notch service to all our customers,” he added.

The current Triton line-up was last updated November last year, and consists of the limited edition Triton Knight, Triton Adventure X, Triton VGT Premium, Triton VGT, and the low-rider Triton Quest.
