Following the opening of the Registration of Interest (ROI) in January, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) today announced that local production (CKD) of the Mitsubishi Xforce has commenced at its assembly plant in Pekan, with first units now officially rolled off the line.
MMM aims to deliver the first 800 units within April, following final quality validation checks. This delivery target points toward an official launch in late March or April, with official bookings for the new B-segment SUV set to open this week.
The assembly facility in Pekan has undergone significant upgrades specifically designed for the production requirements of the all-new Xforce. These include a new sub-assembly body shop and the installation of advanced equipment across the paint, outfitting, and tester lines.
Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia Chief Executive Officer Takashi Sakamaki said, “Mass production of the all-new Mitsubishi Xforce represents the application of Mitsubishi Motors’ Japanese manufacturing philosophy at our Pekan plant. Built on precision, process discipline, and continuous improvement, these standards ensure that every Xforce produced here meets the same quality benchmarks as Mitsubishi vehicles manufactured anywhere in the world.”
“Our priority is to deliver vehicles that embody Mitsubishi Motors’ highest global standards, giving customers confidence, reliability, and pride of ownership from the very first day,” he added.

The Mitsubishi Xforce is a B-segment crossover, but compared to its rivals like the Honda HR-V and the Proton X50, it measures amongst the largest in the segment. These larger dimensions should translate to a more spacious interior, where the cabin is equipped with an 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch central infotainment screen.
Aside from wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, the display also offers various off-road themes that pay homage to the Mitsubishi Pajero, including a digital compass, elevation visualiser, and tilt angle gauge.
For the Malaysian market, the Xforce is expected to feature a sole petrol powertrain, with a 1.5-litre engine producing 105 hp and 141 Nm, paired to a CVT gearbox driving the front wheels. While a hybrid powertrain is available in Thailand, offering a combined 116 hp and 255 Nm from a 1.6-litre petrol-electric setup, there is currently no word on whether this electrified version will be launched in Malaysia.
