Video: 2020 Mazda CX-30 Karak drive to Bukit Tinggi

Bermaz Motor has just launched the all-new Mazda CX-30 on our shores. Immediately after the launch, Eu Jin was sent on a road trip through some of the greatest driving roads in Malaysia to check out what the new crossover is all about.

Does the fully-imported compact crossover have what it takes to justify its price tag? Watch the video below and give us your thoughts!

The Mazda CX-30 is offered with two engine options. The 2.0G and 2.0G HIGH variants get a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine, putting out 162 hp and 213 Nm of torque.

As for the diesel-powered variant, a 1.8-litre SkyActiv-D engine generates 114 hp and 270 Nm of torque. Both engines are paired to a six-speed automatic gearbox to drive the front wheels.

The all-new CX-30 is also based on the latest Mazda 3. Besides sharing the torsion beam suspension at the rear, the CX-30 also shares a very similar cabin design with its cousin, including the dashboard and the seats.

The Mazda CX-30 starts at RM143,059 for the 2.0G variant, and tops out at RM172,944 for the 1.8D HIGH variant.
