Jaguar I-PACE the first all-electric car to offer taxi rides on Nurburgring

An experience made famous by the BMW M5 is about to take a silent turn as Jaguar will be offering taxi rides around the Nurburgring in the all-electric I-PACE for the first time.

The 2019 World Car of the Year makes 400 hp and 696 Nm of torque from two electric motors – one to power the front wheels and another the rear – allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a brisk 4.8 seconds.

Imagine this, but in complete silence.

If you’re wondering just how many times the I-PACE can lap the 20.8 km circuit before its 90 kWh fizzles out, the answer should be plenty as it’s rated to offer up to 500 km of driving range. However given the nature of ring taxi experience, that distance could be half that.

On the topic of electric cars, Nissan recently launched the all-new fully-electric Leaf in Malaysia which accelerated faster than a Nissan 370Z in a short drag race. The Leaf is fitted with a smaller 40kWh battery, offering up to 311 km of electric driving range per full charge.
