After serving the Malaysian market reliably for 8 years, Michelin Malaysia is finally retiring the Michelin XM2 with the arrival of the new and improved Michelin XM2+.
Available for wheels measuring 14 to 16-inches in diameter (32 sizes in total for Malaysian market), the XM2+ uses a brand new full-silica rubber compound that promises long lasting performance throughout the tyre’s lifetime.
Despite carrying over the thread pattern of the previous XM2, the XM2+ provides shorter wet braking distances when new and worn (down to the tyre wear indicator) as well as up to 25% higher mileage compared to other competitors.
The “+” sign located under the model designation denotes the upgraded rubber compound that is responsible for the improved braking performance against its predecessor.
The new XM2+ also maintains the “Green X” marking which indicates its optimised fuel consumption.
Michelin Malaysia says the recommended retail price of the new Michelin XM2+, which are made in Thailand starts at RM200 for the 14-inch tyres. The XM2+ will be available at all Tyre Plus outlets and authorised Michelin dealers across the nation from July onwards.
