A woman in the US drove her Hyundai Elantra 1 million miles in 5 Years

The service interval for a conventional family saloon is usually at 6 months or 10,000 km which is just about the average distance travelled for a private own vehicle. However, Farrah Haines was required to service her 2013 Hyundai Elantra every fortnightly because she clocked an astonishing 1 million miles (1.6 million km) in five years.

Farrah is a delivery driver and she uses her trusty fifth-generation Elantra to carry out her delivery duties. Being on the move seven days a week, she clocks 200,000 miles a year (322,000 km) amounting to the 1 million reading on the odometer in just five years.

When Farrah was approaching the 1-million-mile mark, the digital odometer is unable to register 1,000,000, she contacted Hyundai about the milestone and the Korean carmaker responded by installed a handcrafted million-mile emblem onto her dashboard as well as a 1 Million Mile Club license plate holder.

The million-mile Elantra appears to be in great shape and is ready to take on many more miles with its owner, a testament to a strict service schedule and diligent owner. Despite that, Hyundai USA has surprised Farrah with a brand new 2019 Hyundai Elantra in a heart-warming delivery just in time for Christmas.
