UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has just brought the thrills and spirit of racing to Sunway Pyramid with the inaugural Toyota Velocity Esports Championship (TVEC). From 21 to 23 of September, over 400 participants raced against each other to claim the top spot as the nation’s fastest simulator driver.

The TVEC saw participants blast down Suzuka International Race Track in the Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept available on the Playstation Gran Turismo Sport racing simulator. Participants went through qualifying day which saw 10 finalists with the fastest qualifying time battle each other on the final round for the Championship trophy.

Muhammad Uzair S Abdul Nasir Khan went home with the championship trophy and RM20,000 cash prize while Mior Muhammad Hafiz Mior Lahmudin was awarded RM10,000 for taking P2. Aiman Haziq Aidi, the third podium finisher of the day received an RM5,000 cash prize while the rest of the finalist received consolation prizes of RM2,000 each.

The adrenaline filled weekend also saw celebrities from the Toyota GAZOO Racing (TGR) Racing Festival; Diana Danielle, Janna Nick, Shawn Lee and Syukri Yahaya, Khai Bahar, Nabila Razali, Wany Hasrita, Akim Ahmad and Nabil Ahmad raced against UMW Toyota Motor’s racers.

Fans will also be able to catch the celebrities in full action at the upcoming Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Racing Festival at MAEPS Serdang happening from 19th to 21st October 2018.
