Perodua donates RM1.1 million to Tabung Harapan Malaysia



Perodua has just contributed RM1.1 million to Tabung Harapan Malaysia, a fund set up by the Pakatan Harapan Government to help to reduce the country’s RM1 trillion national debt.

The Perodua community consisting the brand’s group of companies and staff are in support of the Government’s efforts to reduce the country’s debts. Perodua Chairman, YBhg Tan Sri Asmat Kamaludin said: “The contribution demonstrates that Perodua and our staff want a better Malaysia and that we are more than happy to show our support for that cause.”

Tan Sri Asmat presented the contribution to Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng at the Ministry of Finance today. Also present are Perodua President and CEO Datuk (Dr) Aminar Rashid Salleh, Perodua Auto Corporation Sdn Bhd Vice-President Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad and Perodua Auto Corporation Sdn Bhd President Mr Masanori Takahashi.

“We understand that the effort to reduce the country’s debt levels will take some time, and we will support the government of the day in improving the country’s economy through the Malaysian automotive eco-system.” Tan Sri Asmat said.

As of 25 September 2018, 3 pm, Tabung Harapan has amassed over RM191 million through donations from organisations, groups and individuals.
