UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd has extended its Toyota Hilux range with an “L-Edition” for its 2.8-litre AT 4×4 and 2.4-litre AT 4×4 models where they will begin taking orders from 14th March 2018.
On the outside, the Hilux sports a wider appearance with a hexagonal grille surrounded by a chrome outline. More significantly, the front bumper feature larger and wider air intakes below the grille. 
The luxury theme is further enhanced with new five-spoke 18-inch rims in two-tone black and silver finishing. A new rear step ornament is integrated with silver trims, adding a premium touch to the vehicle’s looks.
Inside, the ‘L-Edition’ comes with combination leather upholstery in an all-black theme. Specially for the 2.8-litre AT 4×4 variant, there’ll be Optitron meters with white background lighting for better clarity. Other standard items include a new 6.1-inch touchscreen DVD player with Bluetooth connectivity, six speakers, push start button, leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel and gear knob.
The 2.4-litre AT 4×4 produces 148 hp and 400 Nm while the 2.8-litre AT 4×4 models is capable of 175 hp and 450 Nm. Both models utilise a 6-speed transmission with Super ECT and Sequential Shifter.
For safety, the L-Edition is equipped with 7 airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Active Traction Control (A-TRC) and Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) as standard. For the 2.8 L-Edition, Downhill Assist Control (DAC) is added to make driving down a steep slope easier and safer.
The 2.4 ‘L-Edition’ is priced at RM 119,300 while the 2.8-litre ‘L-Edition’ retails at RM 133,900. Both are on-the-road prices excluding insurance. Every Hilux comes with a 5-year or 150,000 km manufacturer’s warranty.
