UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) has just announced minor updates for the MY2018 Toyota Sienta. The compact MPV will now be offered in a sole 1.5 V variant with additional accessories and equipment for the same price tag of RM97,000, on the road sans insurance.

On the outside, the updated model gets the same equipment from before – full bi-LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights, LED taillamps, front and rear fog lamps, acoustic front windshield, dual powered sliding doors and 16-inch alloys wrapped in 195/50 profile tyres.

It is only when you step inside you’ll find a new 6.9-inch DVD-AVX system with a reverse camera (upgradable to 7.0-inch with navigation), optional 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor, rear USB charging port for the second-row seats and rear cargo trunk mat.

Other standard items include two-tone multifunctional leather-wrapped steering wheel, Optitron instrument cluster with coloured TFT multi-info display, fabric upholstery and six-speakers.

Mechanically, the Sienta retains the 2NR-FE 1.5-litre four-cylinder DVVT-i engine producing 106 hp and 140 Nm of torque to drive the front wheels via a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) with seven virtual ratios.

Safety equipment remains the same as before – three airbags (dual frontal and driver’s knee), ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, Hill-start Assist Control, Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control and Toyota Premium Security and Solar Film.

Order books for the updated Toyota Sienta 1.5 V are now open at all Toyota authorised dealers nationwide. For added peace of mind, the Sienta comes with a 5-Years Unlimited Mileage Warranty.
