All-new Kia Picanto officially teased in Malaysia, gets Apple CarPlay & 6-airbags

The third-generation Kia Picanto recently made its first public appearance in Malaysia at the 2017 Malaysia Autoshow and now Naza Kia Malaysia (NKM) has quietly opened the registration of interest for the new compact car.

NKM has revealed the confirmed specification for the Picanto on its dedicated website and like the outgoing model, this little hatchback is armed to the teeth. On the outside, it comes with projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, front air curtain, front fog lamps, LED combination taillamps and chrome door handles.Inside, the new Picanto will come with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (even the larger Kia Rio does not come with touchscreen infotainment let alone Apple CarPlay), keyless entry and reverse camera with dynamic guidelines. On the safety front it comes with the usual six airbags, ABS, Electronic Stability Control and Hill-Start Assist. However, since the debut of the all-new Perodua Myvi with Advanced Safety Assist, the safety kit on the Picanto is par for the course, to say the least.

It remains to be seen whether customers will have the option for the GT-Line which comes with a unique body kit, rear diffuser, dual exhaust outlets and larger 16-inch dual-tone alloys. Like all Kia models, the Picanto will come with a 5-Year warranty package.
