Renault Captur CKD now on sale in Malaysia, same spec, cheaper at RM109k!

The Renault Captur was first introduced to the Malaysian market back in 2015 for RM123k, which later became cheaper at RM117k in early 2016.

Now, TC Euro Cars (TCEC), distributor of Renault vehicles in Malaysia has just launched the locally assembled Renault Captur and thanks to local assembly and EEV incentives, the Captur is now cheaper at RM109k and gets the same kit as the CBU examples.

As before, the Captur is available in one flavour. It packs a 1.2-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 118 hp and 190 Nm of torque. Drive is sent to the front-wheels via a six-speed Efficient Dual Clutch (EDC) automatic transmission. The Captur is able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.9 seconds before maxing out at 192 km/h. Renault claims the Captur is able to return 5.4 litres per 100 km.

Early adopters of the Captur CKD will also receive a RM11k rebate. We’ve sampled the Renault Captur and found it to be the underdog of the segment. With prices undercutting most of its Japanese and European rivals, is it enough to ‘Captur’ your heart?
