New Volvo XC90 R-Design: First few pictures released

Here we have the first few images of Volvo’s new XC90 R Design, an SUV which Volvo Cars claim to be aimed at buyers who are looking for a head-turner that radiates sportiness and dynamism. The release of the R-Design follows the Swedish carmaker’s recent release of the 1,927 individually numbered First Edition XC90 which were exclusively sold online, and were snapped up in 47 hours.

The exterior includes a number of distinctive details, such as the imposing new grille, front skirting, silk metal window surround, integrated dual exhausts, integrated silver roof rails and matte silver side mirror covers. This XC90 sits on the 20-inch R-Design alloy wheels. Underneath the bonnet of this car lies some of Volvo’s Drive-E powertrain, offering up to 400 hp and a completely new chassis.

It doesn’t end there, too. The R-Design touches also extend to the sports seats, pedals, floor mats and illuminated tread plates.
