The Zeekr 009 is set to receive an update in China, as revealed through a filing with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). According to CarNewsChina, the model is expected to debut very soon, with its first public appearance likely to take place at Auto Beijing 2026 this April.
While it looks pretty much identical to the existing model, most of the changes lie inside the vehicle. The updated Zeekr 009 now features a new 900V architecture, allowing for up to 925 hp (680 kW) and a top speed of 220 km/h.
The updated model will also feature a new ternary Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) battery produced by the CATL–Geely joint venture. While there was no mention of the battery’s capacity, the report says it is capable of a charge rate of 12C (“C” refers to how many times the battery’s capacity can be charged in an hour) thanks to its 900V architecture.
This allows for a 10-80% recharge in just seven minutes, matching nicely with Zeekr’s charging stations in China that can provide up to 1,500 kW of charge.
Closer to home, the Zeekr 009 was launched here, featuring a 400V architecture with power ranging from 340 hp (250 kW) and 373 Nm for the front-wheel drive (FWD) variant, to 612 hp and 693 Nm for the all-wheel drive (AWD) variant. Both variants are fitted with a 116 kWh battery, allowing up to 604 km (WLTP) of range.

In China, Zeekr had previously introduced an updated 009 featuring an 800V architecture. That version delivered up to 789 hp (580 kW), though it has yet to make its way to Malaysian shores.
For now, it is not known if this new 900V update is coming to our shores, let alone the 800V version. But if you’re interested in the model, the Zeekr 009 in Malaysia is priced from RM299,800 for the FWD Executive variant, to RM359,800 for the AWD Ultra Luxury variant, with prices being on the road and without insurance.
