UMW Toyota Motor has launched the new 2026 Toyota Vellfire HEV in Malaysia, two years after it was first previewed in Malaysia. AVailable in a single Executive Lounge variant, the new electrified luxury MPV is priced at RM549,900 on-the-road and without insurance.
That price tag makes the Toyota Vellfire HEV Executive Lounge some RM101,900 dearer than its petrol-powered counterpart, which is priced at RM448,000. It also sits RM1,900 above the Toyota Alphard 2.4T Executive Lounge, priced at RM548,000.

The Toyota Vellfire HEV is powered by the fourth-generation Toyota Hybrid System, which combines a 2.5-litre inline-four naturally-aspirated Atkinson cycle engine, producing 187 hp and 233 Nm, with an electric motor contributing 182 hp and 270 Nm, for a combined system output of 250 hp, sent to the front wheels via an e-CVT gearbox.
Toyota claims this electrified Vellfire is 37% more powerful than its petrol-powered counterpart. It also boasts significantly improved efficiency with a claimed fuel consumption of 5.7 L/100 km compared to the 9.1 L/100km of the petrol variant. While the hybrid Vellfire does come with a smaller 60-litre fuel tank, compared to the 75-litre unit in the standard model, the increased efficiency allows for a total range of over 1,000 km.
Aside from the powertrain, the Toyota Vellfire HEV is largely identical to its petrol-powered sibling, particularly on the outside, save for a few subtle differences. These include the “Quiet Sliding Door” compared to the standard “Power Sliding Door” on the petrol Vellfire, acoustic glass for the front and side windows to improve passenger comfort, and new “HEV’ emblems on the lower front doors and rear tailgate.
Other exterior equipment of the Toyota Vellfire 2.5 HEV Executive Lounge includes:
- Tri-LED headlights with cornering lamps and daytime running lights (DRLs)
- Sequential front and rear turn signals
- LED front and rear fog lamps
- Panoramic glass roof with sunshade

The biggest difference is found on the inside, as the Toyota Vellfire HEV will be offered solely in the plusher Executive Lounge seven-seater (2+2+3) configuration, previously only available on the Alphard. Here, the Executive Lounge VIP seats in the second row get individual removable touchscreen remotes that are integrated into the armrests. This allows passengers to control various functions, including powered recline, massaging, ventilation, as well as heating for the armrests and ottoman.

The Toyota Vellfire HEV Executive Lounge is offered in Black as the standard paint job here in Malaysia. For an additional RM1,000, you can opt for either Platinum White Pearl or Precious Metal. The interior remains customisable, with a choice between Black or Sunset Brown at no additional cost.
Priced at RM549,900, the Toyota Vellfire HEV Executive Lounge comes with a standard five-year unlimited mileage vehicle warranty, and an eight-year unlimited mileage warranty covering the Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) battery, inverter and power management control ECU, which can be optionally extended for another two years.
