Alongside the fully electric EX90, Volvo Cars Malaysia (VCM) today also launched the 2025 Volvo XC90 facelift in Malaysia. The refreshed flagship SUV from the Swedish carmaker is priced from RM418,888 on-the-road, without insurance. Two variants are available:
- Volvo XC90 B5 AWD Mild Hybrid – RM418,888
- Volvo XC90 T8 AWD Plug-in Hybrid – RM434,888
As a facelift, the Volvo XC90 features a new front grille design. The slates are now intertwined in the middle with the Volvo Iron Mark emblem, replacing the previous vertical slates.
The company’s signature “Thor’s Hammer” LED daytime running lights (DRLs) have also been redesigned, with the headlight units now gradually tapered into the front grille. Towards the rear, the XC90 retains its signature rear profile, but the previous chrome outlines for the tailpipes have been removed in the facelift for a cleaner design.

Stepping inside the interior of the Volvo XC90 facelift, you will be greeted with a new 11.2-inch portrait-orientated touchscreen infotainment display running on the next-generation Volvo Car UX based on the Snapdragon Cockpit Platform from Qualcomm, and Android Automotive OS. The infotainment display is paired to a 12.3-inch screen acting as the driver’s digital gauge cluster, as well as a head-up display (HUD).
Standard interior equipment of the Volvo XC90 facelift includes:

- Ventilated Nappa leather upholstery with charcoal headlining and Blackened Ash decor
- Charcoal-tailored steering wheel

- 11.2-inch portrait-orientated touch-screen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto

The Volvo XC90 facelift is available in two powertrain configurations. The first is a mild-hybrid setup which has a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 249 hp and 350 Nm. This is supplemented by an electric motor that makes 14 hp and 40 Nm.
Combined, the total system output is 263 hp and 390 Nm. This is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox with an all-wheel drive (AWD) drivetrain, enabling 0-100km/h in 7.7 seconds.
The XC90 facelift is also available with a T8 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain as well. It features a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 317 hp and 400 Nm. A more powerful electric motor which makes 145 hp and 309 Nm is paired to the engine.
The total combined output is 462 hp and 709 Nm of torque. This is paired to the same eight-speed automatic gearbox and AWD drivetrain for 0-100 km/h in 5.3 seconds. The onboard 18.8 kWh battery pack enables a pure electric (EV) range of 77 km (WLTP).
For safety systems, the Volvo XC90 facelift is equipped with a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). These include:
- Pilot Assist Level 2 semi-autonomous driving
- 360-degree surround view camera
- Run-off Road Protection
- Blind spot information system (BLIS) with steer assist
- Cross-traffic alert (CTA) with auto brake
- Speed limiter
- Lane keep assist (LKA)
- Pedestrian, cyclist and scooter steering avoidance
- Collision avoidance and mitigation

Four exterior colours are available, they are Onyx Black, Denim Blue, Crystal White, and Vapour Grey. Included in the price is a five-year unlimited mileage warranty and an eight-year high-voltage battery warranty. Also included is a five-year complimentary towing and roadside assistance and five-year complimentary Google services and data connectivity.
Customers can opt for the optional Volvo Service Plan priced at RM15,800 which covers the first five years or the first 100,000km. This service plan includes servicing for the engine oil, cabin filter, spark plug, air filter, fuel filter, wiper blade replacement for front and rear, front and rear brake service, and 12-volt battery.
