As they say, all good things come in threes, and here’s the third and final episode of our 2025 drag race series. This time, we are featuring three popular B-segment SUVs: the Proton X50, Chery Omoda 5, and Honda HR-V to see which one will cross the finish line first. Will Woon finally break his streak of finishing third?
As before, all three SUVs are fuelled with PETRONAS Primax 97 with Pro-Race. The specially-formulated fuel removes 99.9% of carbon deposits found in the engine, and provides a more responsive, efficient, and powerful drive thanks to its Advanced Dual Friction Modifier.
On paper, here’s how the SUVs compare to each other. The Honda HR-V is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder making 181 hp and 240 Nm paired with a CVT gearbox driving the front wheels, propelling it from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.8 seconds.
As for the Chery Omoda 5, it is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder making 156 hp and 230 Nm and is paired with a CVT gearbox driving the front wheels. It achieves the century sprint in 9.6 seconds.

For the Proton X50, it is also powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, but unlike the previous two, the X50 has only three cylinders. The engine pushes out 177 hp and 255 Nm and is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission for a century sprint in 7.9 seconds… on paper.
So which one will emerge victorious? Will it be the Honda, Chery or the Proton? Watch our video to find out, and stay tuned for the next one!
