Having recently unveiled the all-new Countryman and John Cooper Works (JCW) Countryman in the past couple of months, MINI has now released more details of the crossover’s entry-level variant, known as the MINI Countryman C.
The MINI Countryman C is available in four trim variants, namely Essential, Classic, Favoured, and JCW. Depending on the trim chosen, the Countryman C can be had with different paint and roof colours, different C-pillar elements, as well as various interior finishes. Wheel-wise, the MINI Countryman C is available with light alloy wheels ranging from 17 to 21 inches.

Powering the MINI Countryman C is a mild hybrid (MHEV) powertrain consisting of a 1.5-litre TwinPower Turbo three-cylinder engine that makes 170 hp (metric) and 280 Nm.
Paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), power is sent to the front wheels only, enabling the crossover to complete the century sprint in 8.3 seconds, and achieve a 212 km/h top speed. The MHEV system’s electric motor is said to be able to assist the Countryman C during acceleration with 14 kW (19 hp) electric drive power.

Inside, the MINI Countryman C is equipped with a heated sports steering wheel, a panoramic glass roof, and a two-tone textile surface on its dashboard and door panels. There are also sports seats as standard, which come with patterned multi-tone textiles, along with an additional width of three cm in the shoulder and elbow area for more comfortable seating.
The Countryman C’s rear seats can be individually adjusted in six positions by up to 12 degrees, or be moved up to 13 cm for additional legroom. When more boot space is needed, the rear seats can be folded down at a ratio of 40:20:40 for additional boot space. Like other variants of the all-new MINI Countryman, the Countryman C also sports the brand’s new round touchscreen OLED display in the centre.

MINI’s Driving Assistant Plus feature, which has been made available on the Countryman for the first time is, also present on the entry-level Countryman C. The feature enables partially automated Level 2+ driving on the highway and allows drivers to have their hands off the steering wheel at speeds of up to 60 km/h. This is provided that they continue to closely monitor the traffic and remain ready to intervene at any time.
