Honda Malaysia has posted the latest update on the Honda City Hatchback and the company will be officially launching its latest offering tomorrow, December 7th!
The short clip of the Honda City Hatchback and the accompanying text ‘1 day to go’ was posted across all their social media channels at 12 P.M. earlier today.
First teased in late October, information shared on the Honda City Hatchback was the choice of powertrains and variants that is similar to the sedan- e:HEV hybrid in RS flavour and regular design with the new 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC.
Honda Malaysia then opened the order books and further dropped more key features of the new Honda City Hatchback. To recap, both mentioned variants, which are positioned at the higher end of the pricing range, gets LED headlamps and taillamps with LED DRLs, LED fog lamps and 16-inch wheels.
A first-in-the-segment feature that Honda is proud to reveal is the fitment of the Remote Engine Start, which allow owners to start the engine and air-conditioning to cool the cabin before entering. Unlike the Honda City sedan that is available from the E variant, this feature is only available in the Hatchback RS e:HEV and V variants.
Inside, the rear seat of the City Hatchback continues to feature Honda’s much-coveted and popular 4-Modes ULTRA seats. It is still the only hatchback in the segment to have the rear seats cleverly-hinged to be fully folded flat (Long mode) or flipped up (Tall mode), as well as Refresh mode that allows couples to stretch their legs onto the flat-folded front seats.
Honda Malaysia also demonstrate the effectiveness of the Honda Sensing and the Honda LaneWatch at the media drive event late last month. Eujin liked how composed both the City hatchback models (RS and 1.5 V) felt and how communicative the steering was.
Honda said the City hatch comes with stiffer engine mounts, improved suspension, and a more rigid body and interestingly, it’s also lighter. More on the review of the Honda City Hatchback at Sepang International Circuit, here.
As mentioned earlier, Honda Sensing full suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) plus electric parking brake will meanwhile be available in just the range-topping RS e:HEV variant, a move that was originally mirrored in the City sedan RS e:HEV, but then extended to the sedan 1.5V variant just last month.
