Honda Malaysia introduces new City variant with Honda Sensing – “V-SENSING”



Aside from the City RS e:HEV, Honda Malaysia has added another variant to the City lineup with Honda Sensing, the new City V-SENSING, priced at RM90,212.36. In total there are now five Honda City variants offered locally.

According to Honda Malaysia, it is targeted that young families or young working adults who seek ample performance alongside advance safety features for their daily commute.

“Since we launched the 5th Generation City in October 2020, we have recorded total sales of more than 23,300 units. To date, the City has contributed 34% to Honda Malaysia’s total sales between January and October 2021, making it the best-selling model in Honda Malaysia, said Honda Malaysia Managing Director and CEO, Ms. Chujo added. 

As the name suggests, the main highlight of the new City variant is the host of Honda SENSING features it’s equipped with including:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Forward Collision Warning
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Lane Keep Assist
  • Collision Mitigation Braking System
  • Road Departure Mitigation
  • Auto High Beam

Other driver aids include a reverse camera, hill start assist Honda LaneWatch with six airbags to depend on.

The new City variant also gets a 7-inch TFT display in the instrument cluster, a feature previously exclusive for the City RS model. In terms of powertrain, the new variant is powered by the latest 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine found in the S, E, and V variants, with 121 hp and 145 Nm. The engine is paired to a CVT gearbox.

Like the V and RS variants for the City, the new V-SENSING variant also gets LED headlights and 16-inch wheels.

Inside, the V-SENSING is furnished with leather seats finished with Ivory highlights. It also gets paddle shifters, rear air-con vents, an 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The Remote Engine Start feature is also available.
