It’s that time of the year again where our major highways will be clogged with cars heading outstation and you definitely don’t want to be the one with the stalled vehicle – causing even more mind-numbing congestion.
So before you embark on your “balik kampung” drives, or even for a road trip, Shell Malaysia and UMW Toyota Motor is offering, for the first time, a 36-point inspection for vehicles of all makes at 20 selected stations nationwide, for FREE!

The inspection will be conducted by trained personnel from Toyota in conjuction with Toyota and Shell’s “Balik Kampung Safety Campaign”.
“This is our first partnership with Shell Malaysia in a safety campaign as our contribution towards making our roads safer. We fully support the government’s efforts to reduce accidents on the roads and through this safety campaign, we can help to ensure vehicles are in a safe condition for their long journeys,” said President of UMW Toyota Motor Sdn. The free vehicle inspections will start from 10am to 5pm on the following dates at selected Shell stations:

“We have carefully identified Shell stations for the free vehicle inspections. It is selected not only based on convenient locations but also the integrated offerings at the stations. Besides the free 36-point inspection, customers can have their car’s engine oil changed at Shell Helix Service Centre, or fuel up with Shell Fuels with DYNAFLEX Technology that is designed for efficiency,” said Managing Director of Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn. Bhd. and Shell Timur Sdn. Bhd., Shairan Huzani Husain.
Each inspection should not take more than 15 minutes. Car owners who send their vehicles for the free vehicle inspection also stand to receive a goodie bag, while stocks last.
For Toyota car owners, they will receive a 10% discount voucher for selected parts purchased at Toyota Service Centres. On top of that, the first 10 customers of the day will receive a RM10 Fuel voucher from Shell Malaysia.
This collaboration with Shell Malaysia will also enable Toyota owners to conveniently replace their airbag inflator system (subject to eligibility and car model) at the selected Shell stations.
The replacement work will take around one hour depending on the car model. Owners who are uncertain if their vehicle is on the recall list for airbag replacement can check via toyota.com.my, or at the service counters of the selected Shell stations. For Toyota customers who are eligible for airbag replacement, UMWT will be giving a Service Discount Booklet as well.
